Notes for all Authors

Compilation of the Conference Proceedings on CD-ROM

For subsequent evaluation of the conference each participant will receive the proceedings of DEWEK 2010 on CD-ROM approximately 2-3 months after the conference. The CD-ROM will contain all the papers of the oral presentations/posters presented at the conference and so provide a comprehensive overview of the conference.

Authors are requested to bring one hard copy and a CD-ROM of their paper and to hand it over to the organisers at the registration desk at the beginning of the conference on 17./18.11.2010. Please note that otherwise we will not be able to publish your contribution in the DEWEK 2010 proceedings.
We also ask you to bear in mind that there are no printing facilities available for delegates at the conference.

The hard copy of your paper or poster should be printed on white DIN A4 sized paper. The type face used by us is "ARIAL 9". Please make sure to choose this or a similar type face. We also ask you to supply your text or CD in Word for Windows 2003/2007/2010 format.

The body of the text should be printed in two columns. Please leave the following margins:

  • top: 2.5 cm
  • left: 2.5 cm
  • right: 2.5 cm
  • bottom: 3.0 cm

The space between the columns should be approx. 1.0 cm. The lines of the body text should be single-spaced.

In the first line(s) of the first page please print the title of your paper, centred, in capital letters, bold and underlined. After the title, leave a blank line. The following lines should contain the name(s) and address(es) of the author(s). These lines should also be centred.

After three blank lines you should print the heading "Summary" in bold letters. Leave another blank line and then print the text of your summary in one column over the whole width of the type area. Insert three blank lines and then print your text, starting with the introduction. The layout and format of your text should conform with the following guidelines:

  • Main headlines must be bold and numbered consecutively (1., 2., 3., etc.). The main heading is always followed by a blank line.
  • Sub-headings should be provided  with sub-numbers (1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, etc.). There is no blank line after a sub-heading.
  • Each chapter is separated from the next heading by two blank lines.
  • References should be numbered consecutively by numbers in square brackets ([1], [2] etc.). Details of the references are listed at the end of the main body of the paper under References.
  • Figures can be either integrated into the continuous text (see example) or inserted at the end of the text (leave one blank line after the caption).
  • Figures should be numbered consecutively and be provided with a caption.

Important: The length of your paper should not exceed four pages (text including illustrations). For each page in excess of this limit the author will be charged € 100,00. This restriction is necessary, even for a CD-ROM, because a small number of printed versions of the proceedings will go to libraries. Papers not submitted in time will not be published in the CD-ROM.
